Carla Torrent is Doctor in Psychology and Master in Clinical Practice in Mental Health by the University of Barcelona. She has completed a postgraduate in clinical neuropsychology and in psychopharmacology at the University of Barcelona.

She is working as a researcher in the Bipolar Disorders Program in the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona since 2001, currently as a CIBERSAM member (Centre of Biomedical Research Network in Mental Health).

She has lectured and published several book chapters and more than 40 articles in international journals on the subject of eating behaviour, neuropsychological issues, treatment adherence and psychological interventions with regard to bipolar disorders. She also served as referee in several journals.
